Kelman Duran and Heather Leigh contribute to Boomkat's Documenting Sound series

The next two editions of Boomkat‘s Documenting Sound series are out now.

First up is a tape from Editions Mego affiliate Heather Leigh called Glory Days. It’s a 13-track album recorded in April that writer David Keenan describes as “a cross between Meredith Monk, DOME and A Guy Called Gerald,” using pedal steel guitar, cuatro and synth.

The second tape comes from Kelman Duran. Hasina is a 30-minute nine-track piece, recorded in London over this spring, that features a slow, atmospheric take on the ambient reggaeton style he’s become known for.

Documenting Sound launched last month as an effort to release musical works made during pandemic lockdown. Past editions have featured Sarah Davachi, Hieroglyphic Being, Ulla and ZULI.
