Nils Frahm announces live album and concert film, Tripping With Nils Frahm
The eight-track document uses Frahm’s 2018 album, All Melody, as its basis, editing together moments from four December 2018 shows at Funkhaus Berlin. The sold-out shows functioned as a homecoming as Frahm’s studio, where All Melody was recorded, is also housed at the former GDR broadcasting studio.
“It was about time to document my concerts in picture and sound,” Frahm said. “Maybe tonight is the night where everything works out perfectly and things fall into place? Normally things go wrong with concerts, but by combining our favorite moments of four performances, we were able to achieve what I was trying to do in these two years of touring: getting it right!”
Frahm’s second live record, following 2013’s Spaces, is out via Erased Tapes on December 3rd. The accompanying concert movie, produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, will premiere the same day on Mubi.
