Watch the trailer for a documentary about legendary Birmingham venue Que Club

There’s a new documentary about legendary Birmingham electronic music venue Que Club.

In The Que, out in May, is the project of Jez Collins of Birmingham Music Archive and was made with a £42,000 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, DJ Mag reports. The documentary tells the story of the club and, more broadly, the “social, cultural and political history of the city, and club and youth culture,” Collins says.

Que Club opened in 1989 during the UK acid house era and is credited with helping put Birmingham on the dance music map. It hosted the likes of Massive Attack, Underworld, Carl Cox, Sven Väth and Daft Punk throughout its 30 years. The venue is now on the Heritage At Risk register as it’s currently disused since being bought by a London property developer with plans to turn it into a hotel, though those appear to have been stalled, according to the BBC.
