Sónar Barcelona postponed until 2021

Barcelona’s Sónar Festival will not be happening this year.

The long-running festival announced today that it would be postponed until 2021 due ongoing restrictions around the pandemic. The new dates are June 17th through 19th.

In a message shared today, Sónar said that they were working to reschedule most artists and events planned for this year, in order to keep the 2021 lineup as close to the planned 2020 festival as possible.

Artists booked for Sónar 2020 included Avalon Emerson, TNGHT, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Arca, The Black Madonna and many more.

Sónar’s technology conference, Sónar+D, will take place as a special online edition called Sónar+D CCCB at its usual location this September, with a focus on projects inspired by “our current cultural context.”
