Peruvian label Sacrilejio Records launches with compilation, Expiation

Sacrilejio Records is releasing its first compilation in October.

Expiation is the debut from the Lima, Peru based label that seeks to focus on Latin American takes on global club sounds. This first release is inspired by “mystical thinking and popular devotional culture,” the label tells RA, calling it “an original act of extinguishing mortal sins and danger vibes in our souls through music, like tools or objects that can discipline our encrypted and non-purified lives.” The label also describes the sound as “industrial drums [and] gloomy atmospheres.”

The compilation features artists from around the continent and beyond, including Russia’s Shyqa, Berlin-based Argentinian Bungalovv, Buenos Aires’ El Plvybxy, Tokyo’s Wrack, Oakland’s Sueuga Kamau and more.

Listen to El Plxybxy’s “Kuruyuki,” and check out the compilation at Bandcamp.
