London venue FOLD launches in-house label

London venue FOLD is launching its own label.

The in-house outlet’s first release is handled by one of the Canning Town club’s residents Gareth Wild, who runs the labels EarToGround and LDNwht. Common Assault features four new techno tracks and two locked grooves for the vinyl edition. The digital version will include an alternate version of the A2, “Live Wire (Roll Dann Remix).” Art is by Lion Sauterleute, who will work with graphic designers for the artwork on all of FOLD’s future releases.

“FOLD prides itself on supporting local artists, so a record label is a natural continuation of that support,” the FOLD team tells Resident Advisor about the label’s mission. “There are so many interesting artists in our community who are working hard day-to-day to carve out their unique ideas and sounds. Our focus as an institution is to highlight and support them, to help them reach a wider audience around the world.”
