East End Rave Roots sees the Welsh artist revisiting some of the venues and record shops that shaped his career, including Phonica, T Bar and fabric. The film is dedicated to Jones’s late friend, and former T Bar booker, Derren Smart.
“The two words that would sum up the period for me were creative and loose,” Jones says. “We partied hard, but we also made a lot of music, searched for a lot of records, played really long sets and barely slept.”
Running for 13 minutes, East End Rave Roots is out in full tomorrow. Watch the trailer.
