GoFundMe page started for 30/70 band member Josh Kelly to raise funds for cancer treatment

Melbourne’s music community is looking to raise money for local saxophonist Josh Kelly for upcoming cancer treatment.

Kelly is a member of 30/70, the Melbourne hip-hop and R&B collective signed to Rhythm Section International, as well as his own band The JK Group. He’s also featured on records for labels like Analogue Attic, Dondwana Records and Apollo.

As the GoFundMe page for Kelly explains, a two-year period of illness recently resulted in a diagnosis of Hodgkins lymphoma, which will require an initial six months of chemotherapy followed by radiation therapy. The fundraiser is collecting money for Kelly, his wife and their 17-month-old son to assist with the upcoming treatment costs. Within the first 24 hours, the page raised more than $25,000 from more than 400 donors.
